Music expresses that which cannot be put into words
and that which cannot remain silent.
-Victor Hugo
The Music program offers a variety of courses for students who wish to meet their Fine Arts requirement as well as those who wish to pursue a more intense musical training. The Music Department feels that the best way to understand music and appreciate music is to become involved in the performance of music. The school provides both instrumental and vocal groups for this purpose. While previous experience is preferred, arrangements can be made to include any interested students in this
program. Other non performance courses may be elected as desired.
Every course in music, including performance arts courses, provide instruction in creating, performing, listening to, and analyzing music, in addition to focusing on its specific subject matter. - from National Standards for Art Education
