AGC MAINE (Associated General Contractors of Maine) A scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled or entering a construction-related field of study, a Maine resident, financial need, reasonable academic standards.   Applicants must provide the completed application, transcript and 150-word essay on why you are pursuing a career in construction.

Gannett Scholarship - This scholarship was established in 2000 to provide renewable support for students majoring in journalism or a field reasonably related, including all forms of print, broadcast or electronic media. ~Students will be chosen based on demonstrated interest in jounalism, financial need and academic achievement.

The Health Resources Services Administration has announced that it is now accepting student applications for the Nursing Scholarship Program for the 2009-10 academic year. The Nursing Scholarship Program awards scholarships to individuals in training to be registered nurses and is open to undergraduate and graduate students. The award consists of payment for tuition, fees, other reasonable educational costs, and a monthly support stipend and in return students agree to a service commitment.
DEADLINE: The deadline to apply is May 14.


Island Electric Scholarship (LOCAL)ñOne $1,000 (amt may vary) may be awarded to students of Cumberland or Chebeague Island who will purse the Electrical/Technical fields.  Applicants must provide the completed application, current transcript and essay then return all forms to the Guidance office.

Maine Community Foundation Scholarships - A wide array of scholarships are administered by the Maine Community Foundation for the benefit of Maine residents. ~There are state wide scholarships as well as scholarships specific to Cumberland County residents.

Maine State Employees Association - Applicants for these scholarships must have a relationship with a dues-paying MSEA member. ~Dependents of school teachers are not eligible as they are eligible for membership in the Maine Educational Association and not the Maine State Employees Association. ~Thirteen annual scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 will be awarded to graduating seniors planning to continue their education. ~The scholarships will be awarded based on character, leadership, service to others, financial aid and scholastic ability. ~
