The Gifted and Talented program identifies the top 5% of students at Greely High School who possess above average ability, task committment and creativity, and provides resources to meet their unique needs. Students are identified for specific academic ability using a formal identification process according to state guidelines, and accommodations are based
on each student's particular strengths. Consultation among the Gifted and Talented teacher, student, and classroom teacher results in an individualized learning plan which can include any of the following differentiation methods to provide an enriched learning environment:
curriculum compacting
acceleration
special projects to differentiate classwork
independent study
mentorship
courses at local colleges
Students who were identified as gifted at Greely Junior High School do not need to go through the identification process, and will continue to receive services at Greely High School.
